How to reach us
Exit the A5 motorway at Ivrea and follow the signs for Valchiusella (SS 565).
After 2 brief tunnels continue for another 300 metres then turn sharp left following signs for Valchiusella and Traversella (SP 64) for a total 24 km. from the Ivrea toll gate to Traversella.
Where to park:
Just before you enter Traversella village, a clear sign to the right indicates the rock climbing site (Palestra di roccia) and the Sentiero delle Anime Parking. Leaving the car in the parking lot, you quickly reach the village centre and the start of the path up to the Refuge.
By train or bus:
Ivrea is the closest railway station. Opposite the station, in Via di Vittorio, you’ll find “GGT” buses to Traversella.

By private coach:
If you want to reach Traversella by private coach beware of the narrows in the village of Drusacco (immediately before Traversella) which might be difficult to drive through. A 12-metre bus can just make it, but there’s a good chance you’ll get stuck if the driver is not particularly used to very narrow winding roads...
(GGT buses are 10.5 metres long).
Coaches must park outside the village in the parking areas provided.
The path to the refuge
The refuge can only be reached on foot with a 30 minutes’ walk. (223-metre rise).
Leave the car in the parking lot outside the village, cross the footbridge to the village and in a few minutes you reach the start of the path.
Initially a paved road, it then becomes a cobbled road and continues as an wide gentle mule track through thick chestnut, cherry, ash and birch woods.
