Free climbing for children:
In 1998 we fitted a rock wall specifically to allow children of all ages to climb.
Every year 65 routes, from grade 2 to grade 6 and between 3 and 25 meters high, host hundreds of roped children.......
The refuge does not organise climbing courses either for children or adults, but we host various courses regularly organised by CAI, the alpine guides and other associations.

The climbing wall for children is three minutes away from the refuge and can be easily reached by everybody.
The use of helmets, ropes, carabineers, harnesses and all the normal climbing gear is mandatory and children must be accompanied by expert climbers!
Being natural rock climbing walls in the open, it is always advisable to check the condition of handholds... kids climb under their supervisor’s responsibility!

News for Spring 2011:
The Piazza Refuge is pleased to inform you that besides the routine maintenance of the surrounding climbing walls, we also added a small artificial climbing wall immediately behind the hut. The 3 by 12 meters wall is available for climbing and exercises in bad weather.
We also cleaned and prepared a few boulders around the refuge for you to try out.
